Does this make me a Twit?

I have joined the twitter.

I'm not entirely sure why, but I blame boredom and an increasing reliance on social networking to feed my need for constant attention.

I also thought it would be the handiest means by which I could inform people of major events - such as, oh, I don't know, maybe a certain call from a certain hospital for a certain major surgery.

If I was really into the twitter, I'd probably call it a 'twansplant'.

If you click on the button over there on the right, you'll see my tweets. As far as I know, you can look at them without signing up to the twitter yourself - if you want to be able to reply to a tweet however, then you have to have an account.

Thank you.

  1. I still can't get the Twitter thing. I'm extensively active on Facebook but I suppose I'm just too naturally longwinded for Twitter :-)

In the meantime, while you wait for that call, maybe this picture will give you a smile - it's waiting for you soon, I'm sure!

  2. I’d like to call you a nerd, but I’ve fallen foul of it myself … watching the #vinb and #ge11 hashtags at night is addictive, especially when Vincent goes on a rant! And there are no Facebook knobs with their pathetic dramas! OMG.

You can add a live feed of your tweets to your blog if you want. If you log into your Twitter account and go to ‘Settings’ (it becomes a drop-down menu under your name on the top right).

Then click the ‘Profile’ button and put http://this-limbo.blogspot.com in where it says ‘Web’. Click the link just underneath that where it says ‘add Twitter to your site here’, click the ‘Add Blogger’ widget.

Pop over to Blogspot, Dashboard, Design and if the feed hasn’t shown up on the layout already, just ‘Add Gadget’ and stick it where you want.

    Hey presto. Welcome to Twitter.

  5. Francis - I'm not sure I get it either. I like the instant nature of it for news, etc, but it's the 'I'm watching telly' tweets that I don't really understand

Anonymous - I saw that live feed option, but decided against it for now. Seems a bit busy. And I figured out how to put the 'Follow me on Twitter' button up all by myself, so I think my technological skills are improving!

  6. I was just thinking I'd have difficulty figuring out how to... eh.... oh I've forgotten.

  7. Nominated in three categories at the Blog Awards ... I obviously wasn't the only one who thought your writing deserves an accolade! You're like the King's Speech of the blogosphere now! Best of Luck!

  8. Holemaster - Deep breaths.

Anonymous - I had heard from Radge that I was nominated in two categories. Hadn't heard I appeared in a third. Very lovely to think that some kind folk went to the bother of nominating me. I've seen the huge amount of entries, so I don't expect to win, but nice to be given recognition. Thank you, whoever you are!
